Thanks Ted,
there are more, but I tried to select ones that show the most
difference. This whole fret lasted about an hour from start to finish,
and it's quite a common occurrence that scares away day trippers -
little do they know that it's going to get very hot in the afternoon, a
fret is always a precursor of wonderful weather. It's fascinating to sit
in Sandsend (where the cliffs are) and watch the cloud build up along
the cliff, flow up the cliff, fill the bay and then do the whole thing
in reverse when it's over. Like a very slow waterfall running backwards.
Every now and again you get a sea fret that will sit over that distant
cliff for a month or so - a friend of ours owns a hotel there and is not
a great friend of that kind of weather phenomenon.

Hi Douglas,
Very good indeed. What I like is you stayed with it and captured a
series rather than just one or two photos. Which of course makes it
far more interesting.

No planes this time - just some, IMO, interesting cloud and weather
observations.

A typical weather situation in Whitby, a sea fret, happens when the
temperature differential between the land and sea is particularly large.
John Carpenter did it too - but Whitby is only famous for vampires
and gothics, not plague ridden zombies.
