St. Joseph's Hill, Los Gatos

St. Joseph's Hill allows dogs on trails, so we usually end up there for our Sunday evening hike. It's also a good 500 foot or so climb in a couple miles. I had a new lens to try out too, a 25mm f/2.8 Biogon T* ZM.

Sometimes smog and haze are a good thing. Today's light reminded me of old Japanese woodcuts of receding mountain ranges silhouetted in the sky:

I was a little concerned about the 25mm's flare resistance, so I shot this into the sun to check it. Yes, the sun is burned out, but flare is minimal:
