As a screw-mount Leica user myself, I a;ready KNOW how good the images can be, but it is the M8 that fascinates!

And it would appear that the 50 m,m Nocti becomes a wonderful "portrait" lens when you take into account that it becomes a sort of "67 mm" optic due to the sensor size.

I wonder-- ddid you have to tweak the shot of Demetrios, or is that the way it came from the camera?

That was exactly how it came out apart from a wee bit of cropping round the edges. See my note to Mark on the frameline problem.

Indeed how much Photoshopping did you need to do on any of the images? Oh, BTW I'm curious-- what sort of film were you using in the film leicas, negative or slide emulsions?

All on Fujicolor 200. I get the negs developed and transferred to CD. The 7.5 Mb hi-res files are more than adequate for Net JPEGs.

I cropped quite a bit, but left the colour balance exactly as it was.

Finally how do you schlep all that gear? You use a 'camera bearer" when you go on photo safaris? {:[))

It's amazing what you can get into the boot (trunk) of a BMW - I drove over.... :-)
