Hello JE.
Thanks for sharing these shots. The one thing that strikes me in most of
them is the lack of a square horizon. I'm not too sure why, but they all seem
to have a noticeable tilt.
The Greek Temple seems to be a little weighted to the left, it seems to want
more room on the right, and less of the foreground, which I can't see adding
much to the shot. On my monitor, the sepia seems to have gone almost
orange.
The cistern was too murky to see, so I rtook it to Photoshop and lightened
it, and saw some terrific detail in the top of the columns, also in the water
reflections. The shot must have been handheld? It seems uniformly not
sharp. In places like that, I look for something to sit my camera on. Also,
since it is a formal head-on composition, I think I would have tried to stand
more in the center to get the columns lined up better.
Passage has the boat going up-hill somewhat, and for my taste needs some
warmth, maybe add some orange filter to the shot. The mid-tones need to be
opened up a little bit so you can see the detail in the background.
Blue Mosque is again dark and tilted; If you add a little warmth to it
either with color balance or orange filter, then the details illuminated by the
lights come out white and it looks more like a night shot than a blue shot
Kea is a nice shot, but suffers from that tilted camera again. I'd use
image transform if you have it, to straighten up the verticals of the blue
door.
Hope these comments help, and as usual, are just my opinion.
Regards,
Sonny
