Peter:
You're making me wish I'd driven up the peninsula to go to the SF meeting!
I shot a wedding in Mountain View that Saturday and it would have been a
stretch. My quiet M7 and Noctilux came in handy for interior shots where I
was only 10 feet away from the bride and groom in a very small, dim
Buddhist Zendo. So I was thinking Leica at least. An SLR's 'bang-bang'
mirror slap would have been very distracting.
Bill Rosauer looks pretty much the same as he did when we were in junior
high and high school together. He convinced me to use my grandpa's M3
instead of my dad's old Contax with the non-return mirror - that got me
started in photography. We both worked part-time at Stern's Camera in
Winnetka, IL. He was a Leica fanatic then, and still is!

OK, gang, I've posted a gallery from the 2005 LHSA meeting in San
Francisco. Many of the shots have no artistic merit whatsoever, they're
just snaps of people I know. You're cordially invited to enjoy them anyway.
Here's the whole folder if you don't want to bother with the descriptions:

skeptical. I don't know the gentleman on the left.

While we had no repeat of 1906, there was a bit of excitement nearby on
Sunday morning.

From my 8th-floor hotel window. I was attracted by the "vertigo"
perspective, plus the wash and the pair of sneakers drying on the roof.

Terance Dixon came all the way from the U.K. to attend. Here his saying
something pithy over his pasta penne.

This is not an out-of-focus picture of Mark Rabiner. It is an in-focus

A group of us went walking Sunday afternoon. We met these friendly young
women from one of the Carolinas, who had rented this little electric Go-Car.

This was supposed to be a street candid, but the woman on the left spotted
me. The look she gave me matched the sign in the background (previously

M6TTL, 35/2 Summicron and 50/1.5 Nokton, Fuji Neopan 400. All but the last
three pics are low-res Noritsu scans from my favorite local lab, which
does a decent job on real B&W with Xtol 1:1.
No animals were harmed, nor any flash used in the making of these photographs.
Enjoy,
