Ted,

Back when I worked in Atlanta and covered the Falcons I had a pair of
jeans that I wore to every game, I think the knees were permantly
yellow/green from the constant sliding in on my knees to shoot a
play...sliding on the grass lined with the yellow chalk.  Washing just
did not get that stain out. LOL.

Shooting from a low angle does something else besides making the image
more dramatic, it cleans up the background as all you have are the out
of focus seats, not players, line judges on the opposite sidelines.
Also remember that most football fields are raised in the center to
allow water to drain, so when you kneel you are probably at ankle
level if they are at midfield.

NFL football was a fun sport to cover. :)  Kinda miss those games....
