PAW 23A - more warbirds & aerobatics

The Hawker Sea Fury was just a little too late for WW II. It was all engine with a 5-bladed prop attached to a super-light plane. The Russian Yak-9 was faster than the legendary P-51D Mustang below 10,000 feet where only one of the Mustang's turbos would operate. (This shot at 1/800 second and reasonably sharp with slight prop blur. Light's still pretty hard at midday, and there's a little JPEG artifacting in the sky.):

Speaking of P-51D's, here's one against the mountains at a shutter speed just slow enough to show a little prop blur - there's some JPEG artifacting in the sky again in the web-sized file not present in the original:

And Canon's EF 16-35mm f/2.8L may cost a bit more but has really good flare immunity in this aerobatic smoke shot with a Pitts Special doing the work:

All comments welcome.
