P-51C Mustang

The bubble-canopied P-51D is the Mustang most people picture when they
think of the USAAF's outstanding fighter from World War II.
But there were other P-51 models. The P-51C had a faired canopy, and
Rolls Royce's Merlin engine with two-stage supercharger for great
high-altitude performance. A special P-51C with two seats gave General
Dwight D. Eisenhower a bird's eye view of the D-Day invasion, letting
him direct it by radio.
Last weekend at Mountain View, California's Moffett Field, the Collings
Foundation gave half-hour solo rides in their restored P-51C two seater.
They even let you fly the plane... all for a mere $2200:
