When I don't need f/1 I use my 50mm Summilux and my neck thanks me after awhile. Of course I'm also the guy who goes trolling with 500mm f/4L and 1.4X converter on a not-quite 3 pound EOS 1D.

Aw com'n Mark,
Sure it's an easy every day lens if you want it to be. As I've carried mine
most shoot days since I bought it back in the early '70's when it first came
on the market. After awhile neither the lens sticking into the view finder
nor the weight mean anything, no different than hanging 3 M whatever's
around your neck on an assignment. And the Noctilux is on one of those three
bodies. :-)
