Thanks to all who replied: Tina, B.D., Shel, Brian, Adam, Graham, Don,
and others. My conclusion is that this new version of PS is
qualitatively different from the previous versions, and so I will for
now stick to the standard Levels adjustments. I have today ordered the
Photoshop CS Artistry book from Amazon and after I have studied it I
will dip my toes a bit more into the new features.
In the meantime, my new used Canon 10D arrived today, and so I am pretty
sure that you will be seeing digital PAWs from me going forward, albeit
some shot with Leica glass. And the M6 loaded with Tri-X will always
continue to have a place in my bag.
