Re: My Epson 2200 bites the dust

Chris,

I've been using the 2400 for about a year and you're right about the BW prints. I've been printing them on Epson's Velvet Fine Art paper, 13x19, using the Quadtone RIP. What a great combination; even better than using Epson's black & white driver. Check out:

and particularly:

as well as:

Good luck. Everyone I show prints to is blown away by them. I might also add that even though there are some very viable FB-like papers out there I've really fallen in love with the matte papers. And this from a person who has been printing BW fiber prints for almost 35 years.

After 5 yrs I think my Epson 2200 threw in the towel. I've tried resuscitating her for 2 weeks now without any vitals. Of course when I purchased her I was told "these printers only last about 2yrs". Well, she gave me thousands of prints and I'll never forget her.

I went to Comp USA and got the 2400! Shizer, these BW prints are great! Now on to getting some of those new FB like papers.
