Mouthing off - an aggressive subject

This is the time for jays to come visiting.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, that usually means scrub jays. These
raucous relatives of crows make constant bold comments about the
merchandise - "Cheeeap! Cheeeap!" - while they hunt for seeds,
insects and other food. This guy likes the acorns from the coast live
oak in my back yard:
