My experience with Bill is exactly like Greg's--he is very pleasant but
extremely talkative on the phone. I too bought a Rolleiflex screen from
him when I lived in Switzerland, and it took an hour-long telephone
conversation :-) But his service was impeccable, and the quality of the
screen was excellent. I also have one of Bill's medium format loupes,
and again, the quality is fantastic.

I am debating buying a new, all matte, screen with sensor lines for
the DM-R or would I be better off to send my present screen to Bill
Maxwell for his Hi-Lux coating. (He can also add the DM-R's sensor
lines.) The cost for both options is within $20, with Bill's
being the slightly cheaper.
Has anybody here had their screens coated by Bill? Are the
results really noticeable?
I looked into Bill's screens for my Rolleiflex. Based upon what I learned I spoke to Bill on the telephone and ordered a screen from him. It has not arrived here yet although I do believe he mailed it a week or more back.
Is he really as fast as he says (3 day turnaround?)
See above; shipping to Canada will take some time.
Also be prepared for a bit of a conversation if you talk to Bill by telephone. We discussed optics and a lot of other stuff too. It will be worth it as Bill will be able to determine exactly what your needs are!
Regards,
Greg
