Re: Marialuisa Morando - $1900

Ted and Tina,

I have two very similar pictures by a dansih photographer - torben eskerod -
they were shot from inside a train looking out at a field in a heavy snow storm
- the motion of the storm and the train moving - makes them just as "abstract"
as the pictures in Tinas link. The were shot with in seconds of each other -
the prints are 40 x 40 cm on baryt paper - I have them in a large frame in a
"double matte" with oubot 10 cm between the two and 10 on top and sides and 12
below. The may not display great photographic technique - originallity or
social concern for that matter, but they are extreemly "relaxing" to look at -
and under influence of some of the single malt stuff and music like tori amos,
edie brickell or norah jones, I have endeed learned to love the two pictures
:-)

check out Torben Eskerod by searching on www.photoeye.com for eskerod - I just
saw that they still stock a book I publsihed in 1997 with his pictures -
"ansigter" (faces) - the picture is of a somewhat different character - but
strong (its a real tatoo - I have a baryt print in 70 x 100 cm and that is kind
of scary)

Back to Tina - would I pay 1500 USD for a shot like teh one you linked to?? -
not based on a small internet display - but sometimes photographes "
materializes" in a magical way when you hold them for real

all the best

Ruben

What am I missing here? http://tinyurl.com/oaj85

  Tina,
I'm sure this falls perfectly inline with P. T. Barnum when he said,
"there's one born every minute." Meaning she's going to sell more than we
"normal people" ;-) think. Simply because there are "many born" every minute!

This is the kind of visual that shouldn't be used in the term "photography"
implying the talent of taking a photograph, it isn't! As it's " so called art
using the medium of the photographic process!"

But in my feelings what is a photograph this just doesn't cut it one iota!
never! And I don't care whom she is!
