Steve. I had a similar problem with my new M8 after updating to firmware 1.102. Turn camera off, remove and replace battery. Turn camera back on - all OK, never have had it happen again. I use a Sandisk 2gig and a Lexar 2 gig card. I read somewhere that removing the battery and switching back on, then let the camera internal battery run down for a day may do the trick. Yes, I agree with Jim Brick, all new design electronic technology has growing pains. Not a big deal for me, this M8 is the absolute best digital camera I have owned. Is your camera back to 100% now?

I am trying what you suggest... after 2 hours no go... maybe after 24 hours ?

of course Jim is right, though I chose this camera to take today's photos...and I would have preferred it to alternatives...

and I am using my Leica glass which cost far more than the camera did...

I'd love to get rid of it...

but only for an M9...

M8 problem... I hope you can help...

after months of using my M8 without any problem... I went to shoot today and it fails to record an image... just the red blinking light on the lower right back.

I can turn off the light only by removing the battery...and reinserting it...

firmware 1.102... reinstalled... same result...

otherwise the program... and the ability to format the card...etc seems OK...

I tried a variety of cards that I have used successfully in the past...

no image...just blinking light...

your advice/thoughts please?

thanks, Steve
