Just before Sandy Carter and I started to shoot the book.. "Women in
Medicine" I bought 3 new M7's and in a matter of several months or so I put
over 500 rolls of 36 exp. film through them at ASA 800 and never had a bad
exposure, anything quit nor create a hic-up of a problem.
Frame after frame perfect exposures and mechanically sound start to finish.
Sold them and went digital!

I owned two of them for about 3 years, both were in almost like new
condition when I got them. I never had a lick of problem with either, and
sold them both to Luggers to finance my M8. They have not reported
problems.

I've been regularly carrying my M7 for occasional casual shots wherever I
happen to be. I use it more heavily around the holidays - put a couple rolls
through it at Thanksgiving, and a couple at my fiancee's Christmas party
last Friday.
Today, two days later, the shutter froze partway open.
I'm a bit fed up from this history with M7's:
First M7 purchased July 2002, FROZE COMPLETELY after first roll of film
Second warranty replacement M7 performed well, lost/stolen in Santa Fe, NM
April 2005
Third M7 purchased used from B&H Photo, May 2005, SLIPPING FILM TRANSPORT
February 2008, COMPLETE SHUTTER FREEZE December 2008
Anyone else having long-term reliability problems with their M7?
