Re: M7 jam...

Steve:
My first M7 bought new in June 2002 from B&H Photo died electronically in the Sierras a few weeks after purchase - no function, even with a fresh set of batteries, and no manual shutter speeds either - for no apparent reason. I sent it back to Leica U.S.A. and they replaced it after a month under warranty (took them that long to get a black camera body to the U.S.).

Haven't had any troubles with M7s since - or my M6 TTL for that matter.

My M3 needs a new shutter curtain - the original one's only 52 years old... I was reluctant to send it to Don Goldberg in Wisconsin, since he usually has enough backlog to take at least three months to fix it. He worked on its lens mount once before, and did a great job.

C'est dommage, ca!

I took it to the two top places in Paris, no solution and they
said it would have to go to Solms... likely for a month.

Have any persons here ever had this sort of problem occur with an
M7 or an M6?

Please give me the details re event, cause, fix, outcome, other...
