I've been using a Wimberly Sidekick in an Arca-Swiss head for three years now. Tried a 4th Generation Designs sidekick-style gimbal head for awhile, since it was even lighter. But it wasn't as rigid - too much vibration for sharp images below 1/100 second. So I went back to the Sidekick.

The reviews say the Manfrotto is "almost" as good as the Wimberly, at a fraction of the cost. I was hoping someone here had used the Manfrotto, so I could find out how close "almost" is!

Perhaps that person will have to be me!
