RE: Leica - starter camera

Price may be the factor. None of the Leica RFs are bad, so you have a
good start in just going with what you can afford. M3's are coveted,
while M4's are less so and are easier to load. Take a look at the prices
on www.keh.com and see what price range you are looking for.

If I were to lose all of my Leica RF's and had to buy ONE to maintain my
sanity, it would probably be an M6 (non-TTL).

Subject: Leica - starter camera

Leica Members
I have been on the list for some time now and have not contributed much,
if
at all, as I don't own a Leica. I have about about 50 other cameras but
no
Leica. I think it is time I changed that and so would appreciate any
thoughts on what would make a good Leica to start out with. I don't
think I
am interested in an SLR Leica as I have plenty of those already but a
good
user rangefinder would be nice. M3 perhaps? I will learn more about
the
respective designations but would like some opinions on what model(s)
would
be a good place to start. I realize that there will be no right or
wrong
answer to this question, merely opinions, but that is what this group is

good at. Maybe no one will even answer, but I do hope so. Price has
some
significance but I do understand that these cameras are not cheap.
regards,
Phil
