The driver then tried to give me a lame excuse that he doesn't actually check the address labels on boxes and only goes by the delivery order sequence on his route.

FedEx Ground is a totally different company from FedEx Express. FedEx bought the old RPS and kept its total infrastructure, just renaming it FedEx Ground. I never send anything important by FedEx Ground. FedEx Express, on the other hand, is excellent.
