Nathan,
Those who carry a camera all the time are the ones who get the moment
everyone else is drooling over later. In most cases we who carry cameras
save the world because 99.9999% of the time having a camera "NOTHING
HAPPENS!"
If we don't have the camera all kinds of neat life moments are in our face
and we end up banging our heads on the nearest wall because we stupidly left
it home.
EXAMPLE:
On Monday at the convocation I had an M8 on my shoulder under the robes.
JUST IN CASE! When the event was over and pictures were being taken, Henning
Wulff offered me a Leica to hold . However I pulled mine out and surprised
all, certainly the Chancellor and University President who couldn't believe
I had one all along.. JUST IN CASE!"
Those of you who were boy scouts know the motto. BE PREPARED! And at most of
our ages ."that doesn't mean carrying condoms!" :-) Cameras!

Thanks to everyone for looking and commenting.
OK, the morning
shot was from my house, so obviously the camera was at hand. But the
evening one was while I was walking the dog. My wife sometimes makes
fun of the fact that I walk the dog with a camera around my neck, but
had I not had it, I would not had had that image.
Incidentally, the same goes for the picture of the busty cafe-lady
from the summer of 2002 which I posted in another thread. I was
walking my dog and as always, the camera was around my neck. Sure, the
girl was there every day that summer, but on that particular occasion
she was in a particularly bubbly mood.
Luck favours the prepared, or whatever that saying is.
Cheers,
Nathan
