Hi David,
you're more awake than I am, the third shot should be:
http://gallery.leica-users.org/New-Old-Pictures/MG_3500_edited_1
It is the same picture, just a crop out of the middle. The canal here is
not as bad as some of the inland waterways further east, they've got
ice between 15 and 30cm thick, and even the ice-breakers are having
problems. In a couple of cases cargos have had to be unloaded and put on
the road.
I've been working much too hard this week, this afternoon was the first
time I've been out further than the garden fence for about 8 days, not
quite 24/7 but getting close on 16/7. 3 weeks holiday in summer is
already paid for, so it's off to the North sea coast again in July and
August - let's hope it's thawed by then.
Maybe I'll try to get a couple of days off next week, I still haven't
managed to get my IIIG and my R-motor drive into intensive care yet.
cheers
Douglas

G'Mornin' Douglas!
Wow!
First of all, I am surprised. I didn't know that they used icebreakers
on the canals... not that they shouldn't... just that I'd never
thought about it!
Secondly, here, in the "Frozen North", high in the mountains, the
weather has been extraordinarily mild... yesterday was +8° (46° F to
our American friends) and today it is only -4°, at 8 AM. Should go
to well above zero, by noon or so. People are walking around in
light jackets... a few are even in short sleeved shirts!
Third... All three are very nice shots... though I like the first, the
best of the lot.
One question... how come the second and third shots are the same?
Just curious!
Cheers!
