these seem to have a slightly different look than your usual, though I
still enjoy them--the wren especially--the bug and textures of the
tree along with the nice cover of the wren color

Ordinarily the Sandhill Cranes' plumage is gray. The rust-colored
stain is
from iron oxides in the soil. When the birds preen their feathers
the iron
in the mud on their bills stains the plumage.
Also in the Sierra Valley, a Yellow-headed Blackbird (Xanthocephalus
xanthocephalus) claims turf:
