Re: IMG: Nathan's PAW 41: the sun is not always shining here

Thanks for your kind words, Mark!

For shooting food, I think a (D)SLR is the best, since it allows you to get close with correct framing. I don't know who on the list started this trend of photographing food and posting the pictures, but I think it is a very nice way to show each other a very important, if not fundamental, aspect of our lives in different parts of the world.

Cheers,
Nathan

Great slice of Autumn on the Spanish coast. I like the rainy views - like all your images, they're shot so well I get a feeling of things like the rain on my face, the slight bite in the air, the water lapping the base of the lifeguard's chair. There are no technical flaws to distract me.

Very nice!

For food, I like the 21mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M ASPH or the 35mm f/2 Summicron-M ASPH on an M7. It's tougher to use a bulky dSLR to shoot food, though that's often what I have with me.

This week I offer you proof that the sun is not always shining here on the Costa Blanca. Besides rain, I also offer you fat women, a love declaration, and I continue the new tradition of photographing food before eating it:
