Last week was a bit slow, photographically speaking--no tapas outings, no walks around the city, no events. So I was reduced to milking our beach for yet more images, even a picture of my wife, and playing paparazzo with my newly acquired 1.4 Oly teleconverter which is not compatible with the 100mm Apo Macro, and yet it works :-)

It's all here:

Good Sunday Mornin' to you, Nathan!

Nothing wrong with this weeks "slice of life" photos... no tapas outings, events or city walks needed!

I love the last two...both for the composition and the humour. But, as usual, they're all good!

I have found, both with the Oly and Leica lenses, that the 1.4 converter makes no noticeable difference in the resolution of fine detail. I am very happy with mine. I have noticed, however, that with the 400 Telyt, the Oly 1.4x yields a significant reduction in contrast. Not just sure why. Still, I can compensate in Silkypix and the resulting shots have more detail than similar shots with the Telyt and my old, SL vintage, Leica 2x converter.

If you have not updated your camera, the latest firmware adds the ability to dial in the focal length of a "third party" lens, so the IS works with it. If the camera detects an OLY lens, it uses the lens info to set the IS. If not, it uses the setting you've made, automagically. Try it ... you may find performance with your 100 Apo Macro improves!

Cheers!
