I think you are right on #1 Bob, esp on exposure comepensation, though I have never tried to compare directly to see if this is of any real practical value..


and I admit I occasionally shoot straight fine jpeg bw...and have liked very much the results,

so you shot RAW then converted?  Did you compare RAW vs straight bw
jpeg shots?
