I know. That's why I only included it for completeness of the story. I'd
never submit it to an editor. The golden-mantled ground squirrel image
meets all the criteria and has the 'cute' factor besides.

You have a lot of great animal photographs. But this one is not one of them.
The "Golden Rule" of animal photography is:
The face must be clearly seen and the eyes must be dead sharp. Everything
else can be all over the map.
