Maybe my technique is flawed, or the 400mm Telyt shows its age (or
I do!). These shots aren't quite as sharp as those with the Canon
lens, but the colors are nice:

Maybe its point of focus which seems to be the second layer of leaves
at the bottom of the pic.... I suspect stopped down might help-- as
it is you get the nice 'Leica' background glow sort of what many of
us like in "environmental portraits , not fuzzy but not sharp either
so it delineates the [person;s face without entirely blurring the
person;s work space in the background
