Re: Digital RF xcameras

Michael,
for what it's worth re the Digilux 2... If they don't get the surprisingly
incredible results I'm getting then I'd question their ability to do
testing.

Ted -- I don't need to be SOLD on digital-- tho i DO like the tactile feel of my Leicas, My old Rolleiflex and even a Minox, from time to time.

Indeed I own a could of digitals and use them a lot.

The Dig1-2 (or its Panasonic clone) interest me. Do they handle like a "real camera? is the aperture priority a true AP and not either/or (f 2.8 or f/8 on one of my cameras). I see plenty of fine "lika=-leica shots from others here and those are with 2 MP cameras. I don't ever (or hardly ever) blow prints to more than 8x10 -- maybe 11x 14 or something g smaller that fits on that sheet once in a great while.
Am not real fond of the machinations i ned to go thru to change settings on my current "toy" digitals and i don't like the LCD VF in sunlight. Nor do I like shutter lag on most digitals i've handled, so far... so I, too, await AP's test.

BTW I have been reading this magazine for a year or more and find their tests EA::Y interesting: For example they had full page ads for Sony ['s 828 -- front and back cover I think -- the week they ran the test: the HATED the "noise" they felt the autofocus was nit very fast but they liked the new color capture.... Gave it an 85 out of 100 or something. Canon's new SLR rated an 88 and nikons new $1,000 digital slr got a 90 percent. That's about top marks for any digital so far, I think.

It, 9s a magazine that dies nit fawn, has pretty good tech stuff very clearly written a and a LOT of good readers pix every week. Its worth seeking out on a Barnes and Noble newsstand... tho if it's worth $100 for a weekly foto-fix??? Well I like reading it..
