It's worth a try, but I have no idea what accomodation is like in Lee Vining - we're driving up from Vegas for the weekend so I figured that we'll probably make it to Bishop if we leave after Ann finishes work.
Call Nancy at Murphey's Motel in Lee Vining, AAA-approved. The number is 1-800-334-6316. She should have some space after Labor Day. Heck, she may have space right now. But call ASAP.
