Doug, that is so real looking it almost looks like a stuffed animal
photographed against a background. Its amazing how sharp it is. I would
almost say its too good, and I mean that with the greatest admiration. You
and that lens should be licensed. Its really a great photo, but seriously, I
do think the background almost makes it pop out too much if that were
possible. What do you think?

Technical stuff: Leicaflex SL, 400mm f/2.8 FD, Provia 100F, tripod,
kneepads.
The 400mm f/2.8 (formerly Sal DiMarco's) has been nearly ideal for the
forest environment, allowing me to use fine-grained films where previously I
had been struggling for usable shutter speeds with fast films. I wish it
were about 5 lbs lighter.
