>>>Ted:
I disagree. This wasn't shot for the owner. It was shot to show the
eyes and expression, to imply interaction with the handler at a dog
show.<<<<
Mark are we talking about the same dog show and photograph? My bad
assumption on the dog owner and handler, I just assumed they were one and
the same. Many are.
The eyes and expression? They're just fine, but the dog hardly looks like
it's looking right at the handler. But appears to be looking at you! Besides
the handler is still a major visual distraction due to the lightness of
subject compared to dog.
I believe Jim Brick mentioned this same distracting element also.
>>>But it's about the dog. That's why the handler is out of focus (and
at the close focusing distance, getting both dog and handler sharp
isn't possible).<<<
I realize it's about the dog, unfortunately the handler stuck in the corner
is still a bigger distraction than staying face to face with the main
subject, the dog!
Thanks for your comments - there will be other images posted from this
shoot.
Actually I'm looking forward to the next photos and hopefully you'll have
several of this particular animal.
Thanks,
ted
