When you walk out to the mailbox at my daughter's home, this is the view. That hill is Pikes's Peak.

I know this view very well. I had a contract in the Springs for six years, 1990 - 1996. I commuted weekly to the Springs, from here (Silly Cone Valley) for the last three years of the contract. One of my colleagues lived near where your photograph was taken.

While in the Springs, I arose, nearly every morning when the weather was clear, before sunrise. I headed out to various places to photograph the sunrise on Pikes Peak, the Springs itself, Garden of the Gods, or whatever. I have hundreds, perhaps thousands, of slides in and around the Springs, and all points west of the Springs. That area is a landscape photographers treasure trove. All on Fuji 50 and Fuji Velvia. All taken with Leica R cameras and lenses. It was on one of these photo sessions that I learned just how sharp the 100/2.8 APO-Macro is. It was an early morning photograph of the Garden of the Gods, from a back road north of the Garden, overlooking all of the formations from the north, looking south. Even photographs using the 100 + a 2x APO extender were way beyond my expectations.

I quit that commute nine years ago. :-)

A colleague of mine here (Sunnyvale CA - his cube next to mine) commutes in every week from Mapleton Utah. In this case, the long term fruits are worth commuting for.

:-)
