Re: Angie's mailbox

The mailbox reference biased me. I was in El Cajon, California one cool summer morning before sunrise. It is near the mountains east of San Diego. At 6:00 a.m., the moon was directly over the mountains on the eastern sky, and it appeared to be about 5x its normal size. If I had a camera at the time, the shot would have been much like this one...perfect moon, and dark foreground.

If none of this fits it's back to you old buddy for what I missed. And when I find out I'll probably shoot meself in the foot for being blind in both eyes.

Not at all. I have a car and several lenses, so as you know that's not the best I could do if I were making a portrait of a mountain. It is just a picture that I hope lets you know the moment. Most of my pictures are like this, just me pointing and saying, "look at that."
