Mark,
You're making me miss my old vacation spots! When I was young and single I
spent every extra available second - summer, spring, fall or winter - in
northern NM or southern Colorado. From Albuquerque up to Cuchara (and over
by Monument Lake) - either in the national forests camping, or hanging out
in the galleries and micro breweries talking God and photography with
like-minded peers. Had some pictures in The Variant Gallery in Taos at the
time - don't know if it's still around or not. Back then Michael Murphy
played Taos regularly when he wasn't touring somewhere else and we used to
just chill out and enjoy the experience. Good times and good memories.
I've talked for some time about taking the kids there. After your last
shots, we may have to go next fall. Lovely images!

Subject: Albuquerque - Indian culture
Albuquerque has an ancient gem west of town - Petroglyph National Monument
on Unser Boulevard. Even if you only have a couple hours, you can see many
of its more than 40,000 glyphs.
A rocky hillside has more than enough drawing space:

Closer to town, the Pueblo Indian Cultural Center shows black on black
pottery from Maria Martinez and her family, and other Pueblo art. It also
has an excellent restaurant, and attractive architectural curves:
