There were many planes at Watsonville yesterday besides the Yak 11 I showed.
Some don't consider the Yak 11 a true WW II aircraft - because it was
a Soviet trainer.
Here's its sibling Yak 9U - this probably looks more like what you'd
expect. This one's an airshow special with a big Allison engine,
flown by stunt pilot Eddie Andreini:

The SNJ-5 was a trainer too - here's a stack of 'em:

Some folks go to airshows just to look at the planes and talk aircraft:

But I like to watch the stunt flying:

Here are some REAL WW II warbirds:

It's tough to get a moving prop and have the rest of the bird sharp,
but it is possible:

Note the black-and-white D-Day stripes. They made for easy
recognition on a day with lots of aircraft in the sky.
And here's something a bit abstract:

This one's special - this hang glider pilot did some neat aerobatics.
It was only when he landed we discovered he was a paraplegic. Dream
big and nothing can stop you: http://tinyurl.com/s4hbq
All comments welcome.
