Re: Adapt 80mm Summilux to Canon EOS camera body?

Mark,

Unfortunately there isn't, it's always stop-down mode.

I use Novoflex and Kindai adapters to Canon 20D and also a few focus confirmation adapters from this source too.

(Sorry the link is long, TinyURL is down)

They also market an adapter for Leica-R glass to Leica-M (I have one and the C/Y adapter too - very well made adapters)

The R/EOS adapters are not quite Novoflex or Kindai quality, but they are very well machined - and a lot cheaper

Here is their whole range - steer clear of the Rollei/EOS adapter - it's rubbish.

Cheers

I know some of you use Leitz R-glass on Canon EOS cameras. Is there an adaptor which retains the lens' auto-aperture, or is it stop-down mode only?

I'm wondering because I'd like a fast medium telephoto for one of my cameras (Leica M8 or EOS 1D mk II/20D). A used 80mm Summilux-R is about half the price of a used 75mm Summilux-M.

Thanks!
