I spent early yesterday morning with the shorebirds. A pair of
ring-billed gulls wheeled above Shoreline Golf Course (1000mm, autofocus):

And the double-crested cormorants were doing their usual winter
chorus-line moves on Shoreline's boat dock. A much larger brown
pelican in breeding plumage joined them around 9:00AM (1000mm, manual focus):

Brown pelicans usually migrate south to La Jolla and Baja for winter
breeding, but this guy was hanging around here for some reason. He
flew off to paddle around Shoreline Lake after awhile. (Sorry about
the decapitated cormorant in the foreground.)
All comments welcome.
