Now Bill the flame suit wont help other than holding the pieces together
after the flames are out! ;-) You know the dust, ashes and debris! ;-)
You see this is the worst way to try a camera, someone else's standing in a
crowd without having the instruction manual in hand to make any simple
adjustments to the view finder to make it fit "your eye!" And other simple
things to produce truly wonderful images.
Of course it doesn't have the viewfinder of an M, what camera does? Besides
there is some adaptation to a new camera whether film or digital.
Sure I have a few concerns about things like, well OK the price first! I
wish it went to 800 with the quality of 100! :-) But then what film camera
produces that without changing film? ;-)
This Digilux 2 is a camera that takes a few tries to set it too your eye and
how you use the camera. I bet you went manual focus and manual everything
else, right? Mistake!!!!!!!!! Like big mistake!
Hell the best way to enjoy it right at the beginning is "GO ALL AUTOMATIC!"
Everything!!!!!!! I don't care what you think, do it this way and enjoy what
the camera can produce first, then go screw around with it in whatever mode
you wish.
And I bet you'll come back to auto-everything because it works so
beautifully you and many others will be very surprised at the quality
certainly when they're popping out 13X19 prints! :-)
You may not have ever done automatic everything before during your
photographic life. However, there's a first time for everything and the
Digilux 2 is the beginning of a whole new way of shooting. :-)
Auto everything is the best way to go for openers so you kinda get the
feeling of it and it's producing quality of what things look like.
OK now you can undo yer flame suit! ;-) It's not as bad as you imply simply
because you seem to have played with it for only a few minutes and what's
that going to tell.......... everything negative as you pointed out!
However, get one, rent or buy, you'll be extremely and positively surprised
at the incredible positive results.
