Re: A "Beauty" of a story...

David, this is a great story and I am happy that your "Beauty" is in your possession and of rare value. It is a beautiful camera to boot and looks to be in marvelous condition inspite of the curiousity of a 10 or 12 year old. ;-)

Thanks for reading, Dave!

Unfortunately, it is not in as good shape as it would appear. When a 10 to 12 year old peels back old vulcanite, looking for screws when he does not know whether they're there or not, he does damage.

Rather sad, actually.... Why did I have to pick on the rare one????

Still, this sort of thing might lower a camera's value, but when the camera works, and it is one of only two surviving examples, I don't think I'm going to let it bother me.

Like you, I think it's a great story, and it certainly made my week!

Cheers!
