To: The next meeting of the Pensacola SQL Server User Group is Thursday, April 28, at 6:30 PM. The Collaborative Learning Center at the Edward M. Chadbourne Library, Pensacola Campus 1000 College Blvd., Building 20 Pensacola, Florida, 32504-8998 Looking forward to seeing you! Danny Rosales will be talking about applying Test Driven Development to your stored procedure development. Come see the difference applying TDD will have not only on the quality of your code, but on the cognitive effect of your thought process while developing complex stored procedures and user-defined functions. T-SQLUnit is an open source script that will aid you in writing unit tests for your stored procedures. Time permitting, I'll demonstrate the Merge (aka, "Upsert") statement. See how you can insert new records, update existing records, and delete unmatched records in one fell swoop. My one year anniversary is approaching as Chapter Leader for the Pensacola SQL Server User Group, and in keeping with PASS’ recommendations, we will be holding an election process to find this next year’s leader. Anyone interested can either nominate themselves or you can nominate someone that you think would be interested in leading the group. If you are interested in nominating yourself or want to nominate someone, please submit an email to the PASS Regional Mentors for our region, Jorge Segarra and Adam Jorgensen at: US-SouthEastRM@xxxxxxxxxxx and cc/ Karlakay22@xxxxxxx Within your email, please put into your own words why you feel you would make a good leader for the Pensacola SQL Server Users Group, include any qualifications and other community volunteering you’ve done in the past as well as an avg. estimate of hours you can devote to this role in your spare time each month. (Typical number of hours is between 5-7 per mth). Finalists will be placed on ballot to the members of the user group for elections to be held sometime in June. Please submit your nomination by May 15, 2011.
