The weather story for this event has been updated; the forecasted snow amounts
have increased. The basin and highway 97 may now get 6-8" of snow through
tomorrow evening, and will still be followed by freezing rain.
That much new snow on top of what we have already is likely to cause
significant impacts to travel, and may further impede folks from getting out of
their driveways/homes. I would like to encourage the able-bodied to assist your
neighbors who aren't with snow shoveling and plowing.

Subject: fw: iNWS winter storm watch
The NWS in Medford has issued a winter storm watch for most of Klamath County,
and a winter weather advisory for mountain passes. The watch will likely be
upgraded to a warning late tonight or early tomorrow ('watch' means conditions
are possible and is issued further in advance, 'warning' means conditions are
likely and is issued closer to the event start). The forecast includes another
3-4" of snow for the basin through tomorrow evening, and then freezing rain on
top of that. Treacherous travel conditions are possible.
Most of the impacts from this latest storm are expected to occur on the West
side of our Southern Oregon region (more snow and freezing rain on I-5, and
possible riverine flooding early next week from melting snow).
