Hey friends, S:^)

Admission.com here in Canada does the name (hence why ticket prices
are cheaper through www.progquebec.com , ProgQuebec being one of the
main organizers of the festival). When we were having the festival at
another, bigger theatre in Montreal (Years #2 and #3), the theatre box
office _itself_ would charge another $2 or so per day to print out
tickets, regardless of where or by whom they were sold. It was making
for quite a heavy ticket price above and beyond the fee charged by the
festival.

A _cholesterol_ treatment? Now, this I want to hear even more than I
already really want to hear success stories. S:^) High cholesterol
runs in my family, nay, my entire home _village_. We have about 20
restaurants open during peak season for a population of about 2500
people plus tourists... that's insanely high.

I completely sympathize with Robert if he feels it's too high: a
handful of others have mentioned the same, and luckily I was able to
point them to the "one-show-only" or "Sunday-only" tickets before they
were all sold out (and at times, they found those tickets themselves).
Unfortunately, by the time I found out that Robert was interested,
they were already all sold out. It probably would have been much
easier to afford a "one-show-only" ticket, as well as a round-trip car
ride between Ottawa and (relatively close) Montreal. I just didn't
want anyone to rule out seeing Three Friends for their only
North-American public appearance this year (I'm not ruling out a
private one, as those can virtually occur with anyone, see the World
Kontact Day which I still consider to have been semi-private even
though tickets were openly available to the general public), just on
the basis of not knowing who the other bands on the bill are.

That said...

That I _do_ understand. At times, they're a necessary "evil": Three
Friends probably wouldn't have come to North America at all this year
if it weren't for the FMPM. The only other offer they contemplated was
from _another_ similar festival, who may or may not ask again for next
year. Hatfield and the North played for the very first time in
Montreal due to the FMPM. So did Le Orme (I'm not sure if Le Orme even
played in _North_ _America_ before the FMPM gig, and this goes back to
the late '60s... though something inside me tells me they probably did
gig in the U.S. beforehand).

Though I have to admit that the first year I attended the FMPM, there
were a few yawners (and one _groaner_ of a band... won't say who). But
I thoroughly enjoyed (ex-Maneige) Jerome Langlois' set, as well as
Hatfield and the North (getting a kick out of the drummer's on-stage
"I'm NOT PLAYING THAAAAT!" right in mid-gig... later, I was personally
explained by the now-laughing drummer and the rest of the band that
the then-recently-deceased drummer Pip Pyle's replacement had been
given sheet music with over 10 bars of intro... with _nothing_
written. Many people in the crowd laughed with what they thought was
typical Canterbury-ish humour... I have to admit, I was fooled, as the
outburst fit their stage presence perfectly).

Thank you for the 60-minute warning on that. I'd only go to a casino
if it's the only way, period, that I can see a band (i.e. Peter
Frampton came to Halifax, but I chose not to go... I think I had
something elsewhere that night... For what it's worth, I also tried to
see Peter Frampton and attend an in-store signing while in Portland,
Oregon for a Gentle Giant fan get-together... but found out the same
day he'd had to cancer due to either a fever or strep throat, or
both).

Oh, _man_, were Ringo to come up here with Todd Rundgren... Heck, if
the New Cars were to come up here... I don't know what I'd do. They're
supposed to build a casino in Moncton within the next 12 months or so.
Seeing Todd in the neighborhood would probably be a thrill...
depending on the songs he'd play ("Please do the entire 'International
Feel (in 8)' and the self-titled Utopia album from 1983!!!"
"...Whaaaaat?")

Then again, maybe he'd jump at the chance of playing those in order to
avoid playing "Hello, It's Me", S;^D
