A brief follow-up to this: took it for a drive, and it seemed to work very nicely. I think we have a working map system again!

I've just posted a couple of patches (one of which incorporates enhancements I've suggested in other tickets) on this ticket, which I believe resolve the APs being drawn on map problem.

I've yet to take it for a drive to test it in motion, but it seemed to work while stationary.

Also, other tickets I've proposed (see other tickets and/or the mapupdate2.patch on this ticket):

- sound feedback for successful/unsuccessful crack attempts
- shortcut key (cmd-opt-C) for "Center current position" on map view (since it is off by default, and I almost always want it on)
- position used as invalid point should be impossible (0 N 0 E 0alt is not impossible - just unlikely) -> changed to 100 N 0 E -10000alt.

Having some fun with this, but the version I now build on my machine is quite nice!
