This is actually a very good point.
I will keep my eyes open for a BlueTooth enabled GPS system. The cords
are what make my set up so frustrating.

and not waste time with CF or PC Card devices? There are plenty of
Bluetooth-enabled GPS devices that are out or coming out soon, and
this would allow you to place the GPS device closer to where it could
get good visibility of the satellites, while still making that
information available to the computer.
