this does not seem to be the only problem. the 8.10 firmware works on 
some cards very well, however it seems that the problem does NOT occur 
on tibooks. very strange, every time i reset the firmware a second 
time, the thing crashes. i changed a couple of things. it might work 
with my personal code tree, i ll upload it later on (i am pretty busy 
currently) ....
