[kismac] Firmware versions: no luck yet

Alas, the Orinoco Wireless FTP site gives no firmware updaters for
MacOS, only MacOS 8-9 full installers. Running the installers
labelled 6.3, 7.1, and 7.2 (unknown, Spring 2002, and Winter 2002 in
some documents) only seems to result in two different sets of
firmware:
Hardware 4.0.2
Primary Firmware 4.0.4
Station Firmware 8.0.10
and
Hardware 4.2
Primary Firmware 4.4
Station Firmware 8.35
None behaves any differently with the MacJack driver. Tomorrow, I've
arranged for the use of a friend's Windows laptop and will try the
firmware updaters for Windows labelled:
6.06
6.16
7.28
7.52
8.10
The Kismet people seem to see problems with firmware 8.10 and up,
although there are patches for that; supposedly, Lucent removed
promiscuous mode in the Summer of 2002, somewhere around firmware
8.10.
