I have been luck and avoided a few goodies, but I have heard of some cute
one's.
Most involve going to stores for:
- A long wait - BFA for the Carl G / M203 - A Grid Line - 6 Figure grid reference - Prop Wash - Bucket of air - 50 Feet of shoreline - Spark plug for a MLVW

Yep. I did not escape unscathed. As a OCdt I was once sent to examine the
mast lowering mechanism on the destroyer I was visiting. Got all the way to
the engine room before it clicked. Duh. Still gives me a chuckle though.

Yes, But for every Officers story about the troops there is always just as
many about the Officers. Like the good Captain sent to get the track
demolition safety kit, or box of codes for the CP or the left handed wrench
for the troops. As a Snr NCO's we have seen our share on both sides of the
fence and been a part of them in our junior days.
