Auto-routing is not all that great. As I travel to kingston quite often it is
forever telling me to goto the 401 and I prefer the #2 or the Parkway. But
getting around a major city is a breeze with it.

All you need for auto-routing is the maps.

Ducky has dropped his "Yellow" a few times and cracked the screen, but it still
works for him.

An 'old yellow' what? Not the eTrex personal??!! *gasp* Is that possible!

Seriously though, both NeoDorset and Malak 'suffer' with the eTrex yellow
GPSr, and in my experience they both do just fine in the field! Perhaps it's
not the auto-routing and colour screens, nor the vast memory capacity or fine
chip-set, that determines how easy you find the cache.... (though I lust after
auto-routing!)

Maybe I should be a good son and procure a Garmin GPSMap 60Cx and pass on
my GPS Map 60C to her.............

But then my brother "Ducky" would want the 60Cas he still has his old
"Yellow"

    Choices, choices...

As I said, it never seems to last too long, and resolves itself without
any warning. Usually it gives me a problem in one axis only when it manifests
itself, then goes away.... Go figure.

It is the thumb click stick that is giving me a headache, what do you
do to make it work?

I've had similar trouble with my Legend, balky controls - especially
the thumb click stick. But fortunately they never have lasted long or been too
onerous. I'm hanging onto it until the 60csx has established itself, or maybe
something dual compatible with the European system too is available. Cheers,

My e-trex legend and I are not getting along. 1) turn it on
 2) whack it on something hard to get the buttons working

We are now good to go and if I remember correctly, it will work
till I turn if off, then we repeat steps 1 & 2.

Needless to say, I will not go out in the bush with just this unit
and do not wish to buy another at the present time. Maybe Binrat will get
tired of his 60C and want to upgrade in the near future.

Does anybody else have this problem? and if so how do you fix it?
