One way we could solve this is to have one of the duties of Treasurer be

Why would the Voting credentials need to be determined by the President
prior to voting if the active membership is already kept by the treasurer?

I pressed the send key before I meant to.
Article 5: We have already reduced the number of Board members to 4, in
addition to the officers. Getting more than that many on conference calls
was unwieldy.
1.3 The 12-month provision again. If a person has skills to provide,
should
we be able to waive this?
2.1.1 The election of Board members occurs every two years now. This was
amended a few years ago.
Article VI: The term Election Committee is used. I would change this to
Nominations Committee. The current makeup of this committee is an active
member, an associate member, and a member of an outside agency. Do we want
to keep this as is? I think we might change this to three members, at
least
one active member and one associate member. This gives a bit more
flexibility.
2.3 I would remove this paragraph. Nominations from the floor often occur
at
the last minute. Also, the Nominating Committee should have a bit more
flexibility here.
3.1 Candidates selected by the Nominating Committee will be introduced
prior
to voting. I would then add the sentence "Nominations will then be
accepted
from the floor." At that time, each candidate will have an opportunity to
his or her qualifications for the office sought.
In 3.2, I would substitute, "Voting shall be done by written ballot at the
Retreat, unless a motion is made to nominate the entire slate or if only
one
candidate is running for an officer or Board position.
I would like to add some other positions here. Perhaps, this wold come
before the other sections on voting. I wold put, "Voting credentials will
be
determined by the President before voting begins. A list of active members
will be maintained by the Treasurer.
